Srinagar, May 06 (KNO): Amid the reports of the Union Government contemplating the revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah cautioned on Monday that attacks continue to plague even the most tranquil regions of the erstwhile state. Omar's remarks come against the backdrop of recent incidents striking areas known for their relative peace in Pir Panchal region.
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) correspondent, addressing an election rally in north Kashmir, NC Vice President and party's LS candidate from Baramulla highlighted that over the past four years, terrorist strikes have not ceased, with incidents cropping up notably in Srinagar, Rajouri, and Poonch. The resurgence of violence in these traditionally serene locales according to Omar highlight the persistent challenge posed by terrorism in the region.
